Astronavt Sam Bell Lunar Industries şirkəti ilə üçillik müqavilə imzalayıb. Müqaviləyə əsasən, o, planetimizi qidalandıran mühüm enerji mənbələrindən olan Helium-3 elementini Ayın səthindən hasil edən müəssisəyə təkbaşına cavabdeh olacaq. Bu çətin tapşırıqda onun yeganə köməkçisi Gerty adlı robotdur. Sam Ayda özünəməxsus bir rutin yaradıb. Günlərini səssizlik içində keçirən Sam evə dönməsinə üç həftə qalmış qəzaya uğrayır.
