FTB agentləri Qrir və Piters bir universitet tələbəsinin müəmmalı qətlini araşdırırlar. Bu tələbə insanların özlərinin qüsursuz robot versiyalarına sahib olmasını təmin edən yüksək texnologiyalı "surət" fenomeninin yaradıcısı ilə əlaqəlidir. Sağlam, xoş görünüşlü və uzaqdan idarə olunan bu maşınlar insanların yerini tutur və beləliklə, insanlar evlərinin rahat və təhlükəsiz mühitindən çıxmadan kənardakı həyatı yaşaya bilirlər.
