El Mariachi, sevgilisini qətlə yetirib gitara çaldığı zərif barmaqlarını sındıran qəddar Bucho-dan intiqam almaq eşqi ilə Meksikanı qarış-qarış gəzir. Bu səyahəti zamanı ona yoldaşlıq edən Buscemi-nin sayəsində getdiyi hər yerdə əfsanəyə çevrilən Mariachi, düşməninin izinə düşdüyü bir vaxtda gözəl Carolina ilə tanış olur və ona aşiq olur. Bundan sonra isə olduqca çətin bir mübarizə başlayacaq.
