İstedadlı və xarizmatik irlandiyalı gitaraçı ilə gənc və gözəl violonçel ifaçısı Nyu-Yorkun Vaşinqton meydanında qarşılaşırlar, lakin bu, sıradan bir gecə deyil. Sehrli anlar yaşayan cütlük bir müddət bir-birindən ayrı düşür. Lakin onları balaca bir uşaq yenidən bir araya gətirəcək: kimsəsiz uşaq olan August Rush küçələrdə öz musiqisini yaradır və sanki sehrli bir qüvvə tərəfindən qorunur. Balaca August öz istedadını getdikcə hər kəsə sübut edir.
