Highsmith və Danson şəhərin qəhrəman polisləridir. Mükafatlı bu polislər təkcə şəhər sakinləri üçün deyil, polis idarəsi üçün də bir kumirdirlər. Dedektivlər Terry Hoitz və Adam Gamble isə masa arxasında sənədlərə gömülmüş polis məmurlarıdır. Günlərini monoton şəkildə keçirən tərəfdaşlardan Terry bu vəziyyətdən bezməyə başlayır. Artıq hər kəsin Highsmith və Danson-a həsəd aparmasına dözə bilmir. Beləliklə, ortağı Alanı da yanına alıb küçələrə çıxmağa və nə qədər "sərt polis" olduqlarını sübut etməyə qərar verir. Lakin bu cütlüyün planları gözlədikləri kimi getmir.
