1960-cı illərdə Nyu-Cersidə Afrika və İtalyan əsilli amerikalı qanqsterlər arasında gərginliyin pik həddə çatdığı bir dövrdə cərəyan edən film, gənc Entoni Sopranonun Nyuark tarixinin ən çaxnaşmalı illərində böyüməsindən və bu müddətdə əmisi Diki Moltisantini özünə nümunə götürməsindən bəhs edir. Moltisantinin bu gənc üzərindəki təsiri onun tamamilə Toni Sopranoya çevrilməsinə yol açır.
