18-ci əsrdə İngilis və Fransız əsgərləri Şimal Amerikada nəzarəti ələ keçirmək üçün müharibə aparırlar. Qırmızı dərililər və yaşayış yerinin sakinləri bu müharibənin ortasında qalmışdır. Yaşayış yerinin sakinləri olan Kora və onun bacısı Alice-i, başlarına gələn bir fəlakətdən Hawk-Eye adlı bir qırmızı dərili xilas edir. Hawk-Eye əslində yaşayış yerinin sakini olmaqla bərabər, ailə üzvlərinin ölümündən sonra Son Mohekanlar tərəfindən böyüdülmüşdür. James Fenimore Cooper-un romanından uyarlanan Son Mohekanlar, Michael Mann-ın rejissor kariyerinin mühüm filmləri arasında sayılır. Daniel Day-Lewis-in çox müvəffəq performans nümayiş etdirdiyini də qeyd etmək lazımdır.
