Uşaqlıqdan vəhşi heyvanlar tərəfindən böyüdülən Mauqli (Jason Scott Lee) nəhayət meşədən uzaqlaşır və mayor Braydonun (Sam Neill) gözəl qızı Kittiyə vurulur. Lakin Mauqli həm Kittinin qəlbini, həm də Meymunlar Şəhərinin əfsanəvi xəzinələrini ələ keçirmək istəyən korrupsioner kapitan Bun (Cary Elwes) ilə üz-üzə gəlməli olur. Meymunlar Şəhərini tapa biləcək yeganə şəxs Mauqlidir. Onun sadiq heyvan dostları Baqira, Balu və Qrey Brader Mauqlinin bu vəhşi təhlükələrdən sağ çıxmasına kömək etməlidirlər.
