Şəhər sularına qarışan naməlum zəhərli bir maddə qəsəbə sakinlərini psixopat qatillərə çevirir. Bunu fərq edən rəsmilər qəsəbəni karantinə almağa qərar verirlər. Kənardan hər şeyin qüsursuz göründüyü qəsəbə sakinlərinin nəzarəti itirərək birer qəddara çevrilməsi ilə Amerika Arzusu sona çatır. Epidemiyanın qarşısını almağa çalışan hərbçilər qəsəbəyə giriş-çıxışı bağladıqda, içəridə sağlam qalanlarla gözü dönmüş qatillər arasında xaos başlayır.
