Həbsxanadan yeni çıxan Rudi Dunkan (Ben Affleck) məktublaşma yoluyla tanış olduğu və xəyallarının qadını olan Eşli (Charlize Theron) ilə yeni bir həyata başlamaq qərarına gəlir. Lakin bu xoşbəxtlik, Eşlinin dəli qardaşı Qabriel (Gary Sinise) və onun təhlükəli dostlarının Rudinin keçmişdə işlədiyi kazinonu qarət etmək planları ilə pozulur. Rudi təmiz bir səhifə açmaq istəsə də, keçmişi onu gözlənilməz hadisələrlə dolu bir fırtınanın tam mərkəzinə sürükləyir. Ölüm, sevgi və şantajla dolu bu oyundan hiyləgərliklə çıxa bilməsə, onu daha böyük təhlükələr gözləyir.
