Film, psixoloq Dr. William Moulton Marston-un 'Wonder Woman' obrazını yaradarkən ilham aldığı real hadisələrdən bəhs edir. Marstonun feminist super qəhrəmanı senzura tərəfindən 'cinsi azğınlıq' ittihamı ilə tənqid olunarkən, o, əslində özünü məhv edə biləcək bir sirri gizlədirdi. Marstonun 'Wonder Woman' obrazı üçün ilham aldığı iki qadın var idi: həyat yoldaşı Elizabeth Marston və birlikdə yaşadıqları sevgilisi Olive Byrne. Bu sistemə qarşı çıxan güclü iki qadın, Marstonla birlikdə insan davranışı üzərində işləyərkən, eyni zamanda gizli bir həyat sürürdülər.
