Eyalet Psixiatriya Xəstəxanasında qısa bir tətil o qədər də pis səslənmir, elə deyilmi? Randle P. McMurphy damarlarında qan əvəzinə elektrik dolaşan, dili şirin, azad ruhlu bir məhbusdur. McMurphy dəli olduğunu iddia edərək özünü "dəlilər" adlandırdığı adamların yanına köçürdür. Çox keçmədən onun yoluxucu üsyankar ruhu, yeni gəldiyi yerin uyuşdurucu rutini ilə qarşı-qarşıya gəlir. McMurphy Dünya Çempionatı oyunları gedərkən yeni dostlarının sakitləşdirici dərmanların təsiri altında xalatlarla gəzməsinə dözə bilmir.
