Gənc Les Anderson (Corey Haim) sürücülük imtahanından kəsiləndə həyatının daha pis ola bilməyəcəyini düşünür, amma yanılır. Sürücülük vəsiqəsi ala bilməsə də, cazibədar sevgilisi Mercedes Lane (Heather Graham) ilə olan görüşünü təxirə salmaq istəmir və bu xüsusi gün üçün ailəsinin bahalı lüks avtomobilini götürür. Lakin işlər planlaşdırıldığı kimi getmir: Mercedes özü ilə içki gətirir, sərxoş olub huşunu itirir. Les nə edəcəyini bilmir və üsyankar dostu Dean-dən (Corey Feldman) kömək istəyir. Bu qərar işləri daha da qarışıq hala salır.
