Lakeview Terrace-da gənc bir cütlük Kaliforniyadakı xəyal etdikləri evə yeni köçüblər, lakin irqçi qonşuları onlara qarşı düşmən mövqe tutur. Təkbaşına övlad böyüdən, sərt xarakterli LAPD zabiti özünü məhəllənin keşikçisi hesab edir. Gecələr məhəlləni nəzarətdə saxlayıb sakitliyi qoruduğunu iddia edən zabit, getdikcə yeni evlənən cütlüyü narahat etməyə başlayır. Polisin bu təzyiqlərinə qarşı cütlüyün müqavimət göstərməsi isə faciəvi bir sonluqla nəticələnir.
