Tom lüks bir ada otelində tennis məşqçisidir və dərslər arasındakı boş vaxtlarını spirtli içki və bir gecəlik münasibətlərlə keçirir. Maguire ailəsinin gəlişi Tomu bu rutinindən çıxarır; o, Anne, həyat yoldaşı Dave və oğulları Anton ilə yaxınlaşır. Tom, Anneni əvvəllər tanıdığı hissini bir an belə unuda bilmir. Bu gərginlik bir gecə Davenın yoxa çıxması və istintaqın həm Anneni, həm də Tomu şübhəli qismində göstərməsi ilə daha da dərinləşir.
