1951-ci ildə İndiananın kiçik bir qəsəbəsində keçmişini arxada qoymaq istəyən məşqçi Norman Deyl, problemli bir lisey basketbol komandasının rəhbərliyini öz üzərinə götürür. Ulduz oyunçunun komandanı tərk etməsi, qəsəbənin təzyiqi və alkoqol asılılığı olan bir köməkçi məşqçinin seçilməsi işləri çətinləşdirsə də, Deyl məhdud heyəti ilə qalib bir komanda qurmaq və ikinci bir şans qazanmaq üçün mübarizə aparır.
