Hold the Dark, bir qurd sürüsü tərəfindən qaçırılan uşağı tapmaq üçün kəndə gətirilən bir ovçunun hekayəsindən bəhs edir. Sakit bir kənddən bir uşaq qurd sürüsü tərəfindən qaçırılır. Kənd camaatı uşağı xilas etmək və qurdları məhv etmək üçün təcrübəli bir ovçu çağırır. Lakin ovçu üçün asan görünən bu tapşırıq, gözlənilməz və qaranlıq bir macəraya çevrilir. Təbiətin amansızlığı və öz keçmişi ilə üzləşən ovçu, izlədiyi qurdların arxasınca getdikcə kimin ovçu, kimin ov olduğunu anlamaqda çətinlik çəkir.
