Dr. Brown, 1955-ci ildə ilişib qalan Marti-ni xilas etmək üçün zamanda səyahət edir. Lakin özü 1885-ci ilə düşür və DeLorean xarab olduğu, dövrün texnologiyası isə onu təmir etməyə yetmədiyi üçün Doktor Marti-yə bir məktub yazaraq avtomobili harada basdırdığını bildirir. 1955-ci ildəki Marti bu sayədə avtomobili tapır və Doktoru xilas etmək üçün vəhşi qərbə yollanır. Əlbəttə, burada işlər gözlədiyi kimi getmir, çünki Dr. Brown həm yaxşı bir həkimə çevrilib, həm də dəlicəsinə aşiq olub; üstəlik, onu öldürmək istəyən bir qanunsuzlar dəstəsi də onun izinə düşüb.
