1976-cı ilin yayında Tel-Əvivdən Parisə uçan təyyarə dörd hava qulduru tərəfindən qaçırılır. Təyyarə Uqandadakı Entebbe hava limanına endirilir. Dəhşət içində olan 248 sərnişin ölümcül siyasi qarşıdurmada bazarlıq vasitəsinə çevrilir. Hava quldurlarının məqsədi isə girovların müqabilində İsrail, Keniya, Fransa, İsveçrə və Qərbi Almaniyada həbsdə olan 53 fələstinli məhbusun dərhal azad edilməsidir. Girovları xilas etmək üçün misli görünməmiş bir plan hazırlanır.
