Nyu-Yorkda taksi sürücüsü işləyən Cerri Fletçer sui-qəsd nəzəriyyələrinə çox maraqlıdır. Ətrafındakı hər kəslə ölkəni həqiqətən idarə edən adamlar və küçələrdə sərbəst gəzən qatillər haqqında danışmağı adət halına gətirən Fletçer bir gün Ədliyyə Nazirliyinin vəkili Elis Sattonun da həqiqətlərdən xəbərdar olması lazım olduğuna qərar verir. Vəkilin ofisinə baş çəkən Fletçer tez bir zamanda oradan qovulur. Lakin çox keçmədən hər ikisi öz həyatlarını xilas etməyə çalışacaqlar.
