Böyük şəhər polis əməkdaşı və döyüş sənəti ustası China O'Brien polis nişanını təhvil verərək böyüdüyü kiçik şəhərə, atasının yanına qayıtmağa məcbur olur. Lakin onun xatırladığı o sakit şəhər artıq mütəşəkkil cinayətkarlığın caynağındadır. Şəhər şerifi olan atası öldürüldükdən sonra China onun vəzifəsinə namizədliyini irəli sürür və şəhəri təmizləmək qərarına gəlir. Seçki nəticələri şəhərin taleyini həll edəcək bir sıra qarşıdurmalara səbəb olur.
