Captain Phillips, 2009-cu ildə ABŞ bayrağı altında üzən Maersk Alabama yük gəmisinin somalili dəniz quldurları tərəfindən qaçırılmasını ələ alan çoxşaxəli bir dramdır. Film hadisənin qlobal təsirlərini həm gərgin bir triller, həm də mürəkkəb bir xarakter təsviri kimi təqdim edir. Ekran əsəri gəmi kapitanı Richard Phillips ilə onun somalili həmkarı Muse arasındakı münasibətə fokuslanır.
