Polkovnik Ceyms Braddok Vyetnamda öldüyünü düşündüyü asiyalı həyat yoldaşının və 12 yaşlı oğlunun əslində sağ olduğunu öyrənir. Ən müasir silahlarla təchiz olunaraq təkbaşına xilasetmə əməliyyatına başlayır. Ölkənin dərinliklərinə irəliləyən Braddok, amansız bir Vyetnam zabitindən qaçarkən yanına aldığı onlarla amerikalı-asiyalı uşaqla birlikdə meşələri odlayaraq azadlığa doğru qaçır.
