Ron Burgundy 1970-ci illərin San Dieqosunda məşhur bir televiziya aparıcısıdır. Ölkəni bürüyən feminizm dalğası çalışdığı kanala da gəlib çatdıqda, onun yanına iddialı və gözəl qadın aparıcı Veronica Corningstone gətirilir. Tək işləməyə və diqqət mərkəzində olmağa öyrəşən Ron, Veronicanın heyvanlar və yemək bişirmək kimi yüngül mövzularla məşğul olmasını, əsas xəbərləri isə özünə saxlamasını istəyir. Lakin Veronicanın əzmlə xəbər aparıcısı olmaq istəyi ikili arasında ciddi bir mübarizəyə səbəb olacaq.
