Film, müəmmalı bir müfəttişin varlıqlı Birling ailəsini və onların şam yeməyi zamanı qonaqları olan gənc bir qadının intiharını araşdırmasından bəhs edir. Çox sadə bir hekayədən universal mesajlar verən, bəyəndiyim bir dram ortaya çıxdı; gərginliyi və musiqiləri yüksək səviyyədədir. İnsanların əsl üzünü çox gözəl əks etdirib; az sayda aktyor və xüsusi effektlərin olmamasına baxmayaraq, son dərəcə təsirli bir filmdir.
